Claire Strofield

Claire is a native of Sydney, Australia, and has lived in London, San Diego, San Francisco, and now resides in Los Angeles.

Claire’s 10-minute play, The Apartment was produced by the Playwrights’ Centre of San Francisco for their 2021 Play-offs season. Her short story, She Left a Note was published in San Francisco 2019 anthology Quiet Lighting: Sparkle and Blink.

Claire studied playwriting at Gotham in New York under Richard Caliban who was the Artistic Director at Cucaracha Theatre for nine seasons. Claire was also mentored by Donna Kaz, the 2020 Jerry Kaufman Award Winning playwright.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Science (Pre-Med) from the University of Technology, Sydney; a Master of Teaching from the University of Western Sydney, and a Certificate of Creative Writing from Griffith University. Claire is a three-time graduate of The Writer’s Studio in San Francisco. She’s also graduated from the following courses: Directing, UCLA; Screenwriting for TV and Film, UCLA; Screenwriting, Script Anatomy. She studied acting at The Lee Strausberg Theatre & Film Institute and Improv at Upright Citizens Brigade.

Claire recently wrote, produced, and directed the short film, Gulls staring an award-winning cast.

She’s currently researching her next novel.
